Formed in 1772 as Sir William Lemon, Buller, Furley, Lubbock & Co., already partners with James Willyams in the Miners Bank of Truro (a predecessor of Barclays). Samuel Bosanquet joined in 1785 (leaving in 1800 to form Beachcroft, Bosanquet and Reeves, a predecessor of Lloyds), on the retirement of Sir William Lemon. Merged with Robarts Curtis in 1860 to form Robarts Lubbock, a predecessor of RBS.
