Mrs S. F. Hodges, the widow of William Hodges, left three pictures to be offered to the National Gallery in her will made in 1849 and proved in 1852: two are in the NG's collection (Jan van Goyen's River Landscape, her 'cattle picture' by Schweickhardt) and the third picture (illegible but perhaps View of Pertel by Mayounth?) has not been further traced.
