Originally a soap maker of East Smithfield but later apparently a general merchant, acting as a government contractor in the 1780s to supply troops in Dominica.


Bailey's Northern Directory 1781 p. 88; A letter of 1794 from George Gwilt the elder that valued the premises of Neave & Aislabie at East Smithfield at £2250 was offered on Abebooks; Neave and Aislabie shipped provisions to Dominica, Jamaica, etc., a matter of £26,493. House of Commons Journal, Vol. 41, p. 339, and Vol. 43. In July 1788, Neave and Aislabie sent provisions to the West Indies for £20,636.
