Served in Bengal Presidency, rising to the position of Judge at Muradabad, where he died in post 1848. Identified as in India in the Slave Register entry for Grand Mal estate in 1817 but nothing further known.

The Buff Bay plantation was a sugar estate next to the Buff Bay River, south of Charlestown in Jamaica. By 1839, the estate was 840 acres.
