Biography

Of St Catherine. Appeared as trustee for creditors on Bloomfield in Manchester and in his own right under several other small awards in St Catherine. Partner of Rowland Williams in three awards, one adjacent in claim number to another in Thomas Land's name alone.

  1. 'This stone [to Francis Smith in Spanish town Cathedral] is placed here by Thomas Land Esq., who owes his advancement in life to the friendship of the deceased'.

  2. Will of Thomas Land of 3 Francis Terrace Kentish Town proved 18/03/1852. He left his property to his wife for life and then to his seven children. He urged his executors to bring his 'present partners' to account and encouraged them [the executors] to adhere strictly to the terms of the co-partnership agreement. The attestation from Jamaica identified him as attorney formerly of St Catherine.
