Biography

Son of the London merchant John Vincent Purrier (1773-1833) and brother of Edward Purrier (q.v.) and Thomas Purrier (q.v.). Apparently a Jamaican resident, dying in 1849.

  1.  'Jamaica was still unhealthy. John V. Purrier, manager of the Colonial Bank, died suddenly on the 23rd November. Several other deaths of persons filling important stations in society had also occurred.' Will of John Vincent Purrier 'of Kingston, Surrey' [sic] proved 26/05/1849.
