John Billinghurst

???? - 24th Sep 1837

Claimant or beneficiary

  1. Resident slave-owner on Antigua, appearing also as attorney on the island for the Thomas family of Yapton and as trustee (e.g. for Joseph Darrell of Antigua in his will made 03/11/1815) but not further traced to date. It is possible that he was a member of the Billinghurst family of Yapton and that his connection with the Thomas family derived from this: Joseph Billinghurst of Yapton died on St Vincent in 1840.

  2. Death "At the island of Antigua, on the 24th of September, much respected and deeply regretted, John Billinghurst, Esq."
