Biography

  1. Will of Thomas Abell of Balham Surrey proved 29/11/1842. The will left whatever might remain of his property, to his wife, implying some degree of financial distress.

Sources

T71/860 Manchester No. 335. Stephen Denton (q.v.) had apparently sold the estate, which is shown against 'Glanville and Abel' in the 1826 Jamaica Almanac, a few years prior to that, together with the Devon estate, and taken back a mortgage for £66,500 from S. Glanville and W. Abell.
