Claimed with his sister-in-law Eleanora Atherton a moiety of the compensation for Spring Vale in St James and Green Park in Trelawny. Willis's share of the compensation was paid to Joseph Feilden (q.v.), a trustee of the marriage settlement between him [Richard Willis (junior)] and Lucy Atherton. 'Richard Willis of Lancaster', almost certainly the same man, was an executor and trustee of the will of David Murray (q.v.) of Hornby Hall in 1822 and in this capacity was one of the awardees of the compensation for the Bath estate in Westmoreland.
Son of Richard Willis of Halsnead Park and of Hall of the Hill, both in Lancashire, and his wife Cicely, daughter of Joseph Fielden [sic] of Witton Park near Blackburne. Succeeded his father in 1790. Of West Cottage, near Leicester. Born 16/07/1787. Married Lucy, daughter of Henry Atherton Esquire, barrister, 17/07/1819.
In 1841 Richard Willis aged 52 and Lucy Willis aged 45, both born Lancashire, were living with servants in Eccleston Street, Prescot. In 1851, Richard Willis Dep[uty] Lt aged 63 born Liverpool Lancashire and his wife Lucy aged 57 born 'Manchester, Lancashire' were again living in Eccleston Street Prescot. The death of Richard Willis was registered Q4 1858 at Prescot Lancashire. The will of Richard Willis late of Halsnead Hall and Prescot who died 14/12/1858 was proved 15/03/1859, effects under £70,000.
