Lawrence Blount Williams

1797 - 1870

Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

Husband of Charlotte Arthuriana nee Cuthbert, the grand-daughter and legatee of Alexander Willock. Together with his mother-in-law Elizabeth Cuthbert and other family members, Lawrence Blount Williams and his wife were among a large number of counterclaimants on a series of estates on Antigua and Montserrat, the compensation for which was paid to George Savage Martin. Although ostensibly unsuccessful, it is probable that he and his fellow counterclaimants were among the beneficiaries of a settlement reached under these claims and administered by George Savage Martin.
