Biography

Partner of Abraham Watson Rutherford (q.v.).

  1. Leicesterfields estate in Clarendon, Jamaica, was registered to Rutherford and Wagstaffe by their attornies in 1817.

  2. Rutherford & Wagstaffe were listed as members of Lloyds in 1807.

  3. Will of Thomas Wagstaffe merchant of Aldenham Hertfordshire proved 12/04/1822. One of his executors and trustees was his 'worthy friend and partner' Abraham Watson Rutherford. He left an annuity of £800 p.a. to his wife Martha and further annuities of £500 p.a. in total to other family members and individuals. His residuary heirs were his three nephews Michael Mucklow Zachary and James and Henry Le Jeune The will is silent on West India property.
