Biography

Duncan Campbell of Ardneave or Ardnave, father of Jane MacDonald (nee Campbell) and Barbara de Polignac (nee Campbell), under whose marriage settlements compensation was paid for the enslaved people on the Argyle, Calder and Calder Ridge estates on St Vincent. Duncan Campbell was shown as dying at Ardneave in 1825. The estates had been left to the daughters of Duncan Campbell of Ardneave by Duncan Campbell of St Vincent (q.v.), his brother-in-law, the brother of his wife Mary Campbell.
