William Mitchell and his brothers Rowland and Samuel Mitchell (each of whom q.v.) were the executors of the will of William 'King' Mitchell (q.v.), who died in 1823, leaving among other legacies £10,000 to William Mitchell's wife Jemima and their children. The younger William was shown as deceased in the will of his brother Samuel Mitchell made in 1829, but no death-date or probate has yet been traced for him. He was probably the deceased Director of the West India Dock Co. who was replaced September 1828, and possibly the William Mitchell who was a Director of the Bank of England in 1825-7 and 1828.
