Owner of Dowan estate in St George, Jamaica, until c. 1825 when he sold the enslaved people (and possibly the land) to the Earl of Balcarres. The enslaved people were moved to Balcarres estate.
Tentatively identified as Robert Hamilton senior, slave-owner and attorney in eastern Jamaica, who was connected to Robert Hamilton junior and Archibald Robert Hamilton.
