Joseph Russell of Manchester, Jamaica, Esquire.

To my sister Sarah Maria Almond, wife of Robert White Almond of the town of Nottingham, England, an annuity of £250 sterling per annum for life.

As soon as and from the time when funds shall be raised and realised from and by the rents issues and profits of my real estate or from the interest and dividends of my personal estate sufficient for the payment of all debts and demands due by me, I devise to my sister a further annuity of £250 per annum for life.

Also to my sister Sarah Maria Almond, my piece of land in the town of Nottingham containing a stable, adjoining a house owned by my sister.

To my sister Elizabeth Butcher, wife of William Butcher of Nottingham Gentleman an annuity of £250 sterling per annum for her natural life. Should her husband survive her, then an annuity of £150 sterling to him from the death of his wife.

To Joseph Russell, now residing in the town of Lancaster, an apprentice to Messrs. John Moore and Company of Lancaster, when the term of his apprenticeship shall expire, £1,000. In the meantime £70 sterling per annum to him for his support and maintenance.

To my daughter Elizabeth Russell, now residing in Nottingham, £2,500. A like sum of £2,500 to be placed our at interest in the names of my English executors to pay the interest and dividends to my daughter Elizabeth Russell exclusive of any husband she may marry. After her death the principal to devolve as she may decide in any deed or instrument in writing by her executor. In default to her lawful children. Also to my daughter Elizabeth Russell an annuity of £300 a year until the two sums of £2,500 is raised, invested and paid over to her.

To Ann Elizabeth Burton, a free person of colour now residing with me, for the term of her natural life for the maintenance and support of herself and her children an annuity of £200 Jamaican currency. To each of her two children named Sarah Maria Russell and Ann Elizabeth Russell an annuity of £100 Jamaican currency per annum.

To George Murray, a free brown man now residing on my plantation called Russell Place an annuity of £50 Jamaican currency per annum for life.

The annuities to Ann Elizabeth Burton and her two children Sarah Maria Russell and Ann Elizabeth Russell, and to the said George Murray to be charged on my property called Russell Place. They may not sell, assign, transfer or in any way dispose of the said annuities; should they do so then the annuities to immediately cease.

To Miss Bathia Vernon, daughter of James Baillie Vernon late of Manchester Esquire, my late neighbour and friend, £1,000 sterling., to be raised from my estate at the perfect discretion of my executors in Great Britain. Interest of 5 per cent to be paid to her in the meantime.

My pens and plantations in Jamaica called Russell Place, Hanbury and Vauxhall to my executors in Jamaica upon trust, as soon as may be conveniently done after my death, to sell the properties. The profits to be placed at interest for the benefit of every lawful child of my sister Sarah Maria Almond equally at age 21 or (for daughters) at marriage if before the age of 21.

All rest, residue and remainder to be divided equally amongst the children of my sister Sarah Maria Almond.

William Parke of Kingston, Jamaica, Esquire, James Davy of Manchester Esquire and Edward Peart and Richard Powell of Manchester, Jamaica, gentlemen to be executors in Jamaica. My brother-in-law Robert White Almond and my sister Sarah Maria Almond and Alexander Stewart Esquire, late a partner in the house of Alexander Stewart and Company of Kingston, merchant, to be executors in Great Britain.
