Daughter and heiress of Edmund Breon of Chester Vale coffee plantation in Port Royal, Jamaica. Born 08/01/1777 and baptised in St Andrew, Jamaica, 17/02/1777.
Her father died in 1792 and she became the ward of Thomas Cockburn. Married Colin MacLarty in Kingston, 30/10/1794. They had a daughter Jean Johnston MacLarty born 17/04/1798 and baptised in Kingston, Jamaica, 17/04/1798. Three more children were baptised in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland: Mary Ann Brown MacLarty 11/03/1803, Edmund Breon MacLarty 28/11/1803 and Margaret Elizabeth MacLarty 25/09/1807.
