Married Thomas Shirley 2 April 1771 at Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland. Previously married to Sir Stephen Anderson (q.v.), under whose will she was tenant-for-life of his plantation (and enslaved people) in Barbados, with remainder to his great-niece and great-nephew Anna Maria Stephens and Ellys Anderson Stephens. The estate was unnamed in his will but has been identified by LBS from the compensation records as Byde Mill.
