Henry Bendysh junior of Tempsford

???? - 1753

Biography

Owner of Wagwater Plantation in St Mary Jamaica.

  1. Administration of the will of Henry Bendysh jun. of Tempsford Bedfordshire was granted 14/09/1753. The will, made in 1735, leaves everything to his father and mother Henry and Martha Bendysh, and after their deaths to his sisters, Mary Berners and Elizabeth Bendysh. At grant of administration by Mary Berners (wife of William Berners) and Elizabeth Bendysh, Henry Bendysh was shown as formerly of Tempsford but late of Gorleston [?] Suffolk. His parents had predeceased him.

  2. Henry Bendish was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 447 acres of land in St George, 2252 acres in St Mary, 2120 acres in St Elizabeth and 60 acres in St Dorothy, total 4879 acres. This is assumed to be the same Henry Bendysh although he had died by this point.
