Slave-owner on St Kitts, father-in-law of the 9th Lord Cranstoun (q.v.). His son was Frederick Hayes MacNamara and his grand-daughter the actor Louisa Cranstoun Nisbett. Bankrupt in 1802 and reputedly squandered three fortunes. His partners in St Kitts were James Berridge and William Allercott.
