James Lyon

???? - 1807

Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica, probably the brother of David Lyon senior (q.v.) and uncle of David Lyon junior (q.v). The burial of a James Lyon Esq. was recorded in Trelawny in 1807, consistent with the association shown in 1808 with James Lyon deceased in for the Barnstaple and Holland estates that later belonged to David Lyon senior and David Lyon junior. The identification is cemented by details in the will of Mary Allardice nee Lyon (q.v.), sister of James Lyon and David Lyon senior and according to her will the beneficiary of half of James Lyon's estate.
