Biography

Son of Allen Dalzell and stepson of Mary Elizabeth Dalzell (both of whom q.v.).

  1. Will of William Denholm Dalzell Captain of the HEIC of Dumfries [made in 1835] proved 27/11/1837. In the will he placed his estate in trust: his trustees included his brother James Allan Dalzell also of the HEIC and his uncle James Dalzell of Dumfries. He left his residuary estate to his son from his first marriage James Dalzell, and if there were to be children of his second marriage then he instructed his trustees to convey to his son James the interest in Best & Phoenix 'conveyed to me by his deceased mother', Mrs Jane Beete.
