Biography

Slave-owner in Demerara, apparently resident in the early 1830s but having married in Derbyshire 22/10/1828.

  1. On January 21st [1854], at Woorden Cottage, Demerara, Mr. Charles Imhoff, of that place, brother-in-law to Mr. Ince, of Wakefield, in this county [Yorkshire]; On the 23rd ult. [March 1858], Mary, relict of Mr. Chas. Imhoff of Woerden Cottage, Canal No. 3, in the colony of Demarara, second daughter of the late Rickards Ince, of Wirksworth, Derbyshire, attorney-at-law, aged 51 years. She was interred in the churchyard of St. Matthew's, in which parish she had been resident nearly 30 years.
