Biography

Co-heir with his brother under the will of their father Kender Mason senior (q.v.). Although both men inherited estates and enslaved people in the West Indies, where their father had been a slave-factor, the will of neither man shows slave-property. Henry William Mason took the name Pomeroy on succeeding to the estate of his maternal grandfather Henry Pomeroy, a London linen-merchant.
