Peter Furnell was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 325 acres of land in St Andrew.

Peter Furnell of Kingston, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1769. Slave-ownership at probate: 108 of whom 52 were listed as male and 56 as female. 22 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £16772.41 Jamaican currency of which £5684.5 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £9902.39 currency debts and £343.83 currency plate.
