Biography

Joint-owner of Esher estate in Hanover, dying in London in 1785.

  1. Graduated MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1765; married Rebecca Reid in Trelawny 01/02/1774; three children baptised in Trelawny (Isabella Reid 1778, Elizabeth Reid 1779, Samuel Wells 1781) and a fourth in Hanover (Rebecca Mary 1784); a physician in Montego Bay in 1783.

  2. 1785, July 29. In Southampton-row, [death of] David Thompson, M.D. of Jamaica., ("G.M.," 748.). Buried in Camberwell Surrey.

  3. Rebecca Thomson, "wife of Dr Thomson", was buried in Hanover 09/05/1805. The will of his son Rev. Samuel Wells Thomson, proved in 1812, mentions only his sisters Elizabeth and Isabella, suggesting Rebecca Mary Thomson had died by this date.
