Biography

Co-claimant as mortgagees with her siblings Thomas Budgen of Nutfield and Cornelia Penelope Budgen (each gof whom q.v.) of the compensation for the enslaved people on The Whim in Nevis, inferred to have been sold under the will of their grandfather Thomas Budgen MP (q.v.) and to have come to the family through their grandmother Penelope Smith. The estate was in receivership and the ultimate destination of the compensation money is not yet known.

  1. Lucretia Budgen daughter of John Smith Budgen and Lucretia Budgen [nee Mills] baptised 16/04/1767 at St Marylebone. The death of Lucretia Budgen was registered Q4 1853 at Bath.
