Biography

Slave-owner on St Kitts, husband of Cornelia nee Soulegre, brother of John Mills of Woodford (q.v.), and father of John Matthew Mills (q.v.). He was in London when he made his will in 1746, and was killed on St Kitts in 1752.

  1. Will of Matthew Mills [heretofore of St Kitts but now of Soho Square in the parish] of St Ann Middlesex [made in 1746] proved 18/01/1753. He left his wife Cornelia the interest on £10,000 for life, and his estates to his son Peter Matthew Mills (born he said in 1743).
