Biography
Resident of Jamaica when she made her will in 1762, and very probably the mother of Lestock Wilson (q.v.).
- The will of Elizabeth Cockburn or Cockburne of St Iago de la Vega otherwise Spanishtown [formerly Elizabeth Wilson of Dorrington, Northumberland] [made in 1762] was proved 05/03/1782. She left her entire estate in trust to William Kempe of Lincoln's Inn for her son Lestock Cockburn then in the care of Kempe, to be applied to the educating and putting of Lestock Cockburn in some way of getting his living. She made Hon. John Scott her executor in Jamaica. The will is conspicuously silent on her husband.
