Ann Montgomery Birch inherited a one-quarter interest in the personal estate of Charles Grant the elder of Carron. In 1828 she and her husband placed her/their interest in the estate for their children. A counterclaim from Messrs Lucas and Hay in the compensation records for the enslaved people on the estate was probably from Lucas and Hay as the trustees of Ann Montgomery and John Birch.
