1758 - 1811
London lawyer with an entry in the ODNB as 'radical and legal writer.' Stewart Kyd of Grays Inn was party with his wife Eleanor formerly Anson widow to a deed of 27/03/1788 with Robert Glasgow (q.v.) under which Robert Glasgow confirmed to the couple an annuity of £80 p.a. to Eleanor Kyd (then Anson). Valentine Morris (q.v.) as Governor had transferred the land [and presumably enslaved people attached to it, although the deed does not say this] to Robert Glasgow in 1777 on condition that Robert Glasgow granted an annuity of £80 p.a. to Eleanor Anson. Robert Glasgow had then sought and gained a confirmation of the transfer to him after it had been declared invalid by virtue of lack of approval for the original transfer by HM Council; and the deed of 1788 reiterated his promise of the annuity.
