Apparently resident, brother of Isabella Farquharson, and awarded the compensation for three claims in St Elizabeth and claimed unsuccessfully as the executor of Charles Farquharson for a fourth.
Matthew Farquharson of St Elizabeth died at the Rectory Montego Bay, St James 22/03/1840. The wife of Charles Farquharson of Persey died in Spring Vale 28/12/1822.
Memorial inscription: Sacred to the memory of Matthew Farquharson Esquire, for many years a magistrate and the Clerk of the Peace for this parish, who died at Montego Bay, St James on 22nd day of March 1840, aged 47 years. And of Eliza Frances, his wife, who died at Wear Pen in Manchester on the 25th day of February 1868 aged 72 years. This monument is erected by the sorrowing children in remembrance of dear affectionate parents. Also in memory of their four brothers Charles, who died February 10th 1833 aged 10 years. Matthew, who died September 13th, 1853, aged 32 years. Nicholas Wright, who died August 20th 1857, aged 26 years. And Jacob Beninger, who died January 30th 1867, aged 34 years.
