Probably Charlotte Gutzmer, "free woman of colour" and reputed daughter of Anthony Gutzmer of Kingston, bequeathed £1,000 in his will (proved 1834). A Charlotte Gutzmer, "free brown", aged 42 years, was baptised in Kingston, Jamaica, 03/03/1821. She registered one enslaved person in St George in 1817, by mark rather than by signature.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
