Catherina Brandreth Backhouse Vassall married Thomas Chetham Strode at Clifton 11/07/1816. Spencer Thomas Vassall was the son of the loyalist John Vassall (q.v.) of Boston (from a Jamaican family) who returned to Britain and lived at Bath and at Chatley [Burke gives 'Charles'] Lodge Wiltshire. Catherine Vassall erected a monument to Spencer Thomas Vassall in St Paul's Church Bristol. Death of Catherine Chetham Strode Q2 1842 in Lymington, Hampshire.
Spencer Lambert Hunter Vassall married Letitia Sarah Holford (née Napier) at St John Paddington in 1844 and died in Kensington in Q2 1846.
