Biography

Son of Rodolphus Buchanan and his wife Ann nee Scott. Co-heir of Reading and Plumb estates in St James from his uncle Walter Scott. Born 23/09/1805 and baptised 28/04/1806 in St Augustine-the-Less, Bristol, England. His father was a Captain in the 13th Light Dragoons and served in the Napoleonic Wars.

Magistrate in St James in 1857 and Commissioner of the Peace in St James in 1869.
