Elizabeth Charity Drake (née Collard)

1770 - 1827

Biography

Elizabeth Charity Collard married William Drake in 1790 in Wilton, Somerset. Their eldest son Hinton East Drake was baptised in 1791 in St Andrew, Jamaica. Three subsequent children baptised in England: Henrietta Anderson (1798, Charmouth, Dorset); John Collard (1800, Charmouth); Charles Anderson (Colyton, Devon, 1803), Francis (1804, Colyton). Elizabeth Charity Drake of Donyatt, Somerset, was buried 21/07/1827 age 57 years. The co-awardee for Stoney Gut in St Thomas-in-the-East of the same name in the 1830s must therefore have been another woman, presumably the daughter.
