Awarded the compensation for 14 enslaved people on Lower Grays (given as Lower Greys) and for a single enslaved person in a second claim, both in Barbados, the son of John Spooner the younger (1761-1819) and Anna Maria Spooner (q.v.).

John Spooner born Barbados is shown in 1851 aged 39 House proprietor living at 8 Gloucester Crescent with wife Jane aged 37 born Dominica and 3 daughters and 3 sons (born in England) and 4 servants. In 1861 he was living, 'Landed and funded proprietor', aged 49 at 9 Queen Road West Regents Park with his 3 daughters and one of his sons. Will of John Spooner late of 54 Regents Park Road who died 25/06/1866 proved 11/07/1866 by Jane Gordon Spooner spinster one of the executors, effects under £6000.
