1813 - 1865
Awarded the compensation for Frye's in Antigua as owner-in-fee. Son of George Redhead II (q.v.)
Baptised St Mary Newington Surrey 22/06/1814 (born March 21 1813), son of George and Susanna Redhead. Married 14/09/1857 Amelia Flora Bradshaw St Giles Cripplegate London.
In 1891 Amelia Flora Redhead widow 'living on own means' aged 73 was living in Broomswood Road Battersea with her children Amelia aged 31 School Governess and George Herbert aged 28 Law solicitors clerk. In 1871 Amelia Redhead widow had been living in Battersea with Watson Bradshaw (her father) and her two children, Amelia and George. She was identified as the widow of George Francis Redhead of Antigua on her death in 1893. It appears highly probable that the George Redhead who in 1861 was shown as artist/draughtsman' aged 42 [sic] and living with Amelia Redhead at 4 St John's Road Battersea with daughter 'Mathilda' aged 1 was in fact the same man: the birthplaces of both George and Amelia were both given as Ramsgate Kent in the census entry, and George Redhead II, George Francis's father, is know to have been associated with Ramsgate. This George Redhead of St John's Road Battersea was buried at St Mary Battersea 08/03/1865 aged 51 years.
T71/877 Antigua claim no. 81 (Fry[e]'s).
