Biography

  1. Probably Robert Tippler who was a Colonial Broker. In the 1841 census he described himself as a Sugar Broker. He was evidently a widower, living with his 2 sons William (1821-) and Henry (1823), both of whom were clerks. Living with them was also a servant, Mary Bouldind (1811-).

  2. Tippler was the son of Robert and Ann Tippler, born February 1779 (baptized 28 February 1779) and died October 1850 (burial date, 2 November 1850).

  3. Tippler, described as a Colonial Broker, Dealer and Chapman, trading under the firm of Vandewall and Tippler, was declared bankrupt, November 1848. (The final dividend on the estate was not paid until December 1895.)
