London Army agent, later Sir John Kirkland, awarded part of the compensation for enslaved people on Enfield estate in Westmoreland Jamaica, probably as trustee.

  1. Agent General for War Department, Receiver-General for HM Land Revenues for Middlesex, son of John Kirkland of Glasgow and Sybilla Mackenzie. Knighted 1838. Left £160,000.
