Biography

Awarded the compensation for four enslaved people on Antigua. Probably but not certainly the Robert Augustus Hyndman (1807-1896) who was the son of Robert Hyndman of Dublin and brother of John Elliott Hyndman. In the 1828 Slave Register for Antigua, he was described as 'not living in this island'. The Robert Augustus Hyndman identified as the godson of Hugh Hyndman (q.v.) in the latter's will was there described as the son of Charles Robertson Hyndman: there are two sets of baptism records for this third Robert Augustus Hyndman, from 1832 at Holy Trinity Brompton and 1835 at Gravesend.
