Biography

  1. Possibly the son of a free coloured woman, Eliza Game (q.v.) and William McBean of Tomatin (Inverness-shire). William bequeathed an enslaved woman called Cornelia and her children to his brother Lachlan, who was also in Demerara, to be held by him on order to provide for Duncan. In this case, he will also have been a relative of Alexander Mills of Surinam and Inverness (q.v.).
