Information is sketchy. His father-in-law was "of Monellan" and either Robert Delap or more probably his so Samuel Francis Delap built the castle there. The house was demolished in the 1930s.

Enslaved man brought to England as a domestic servant; his former owner was indicted for the mistreatment of Thompson in 1824.
