Birtles Hall, Cheshire, rebuilt by Robert Hibbert after he purchased the estate in 1791. Described as 'a modern mansion' in 1810. The house is extant, although subdivided: an apartment there was advertised for sale through Savills in 2017.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
