Inverclyde (Renfrewshire)
Late C18th mansion and estate. The Ardgowan estate has been held by the Stewart family since the early C15th century. Ardgowan House built 1797-1801. It is still occupiued by the Stewart family and is a Grade A listed building.

Enslaved young woman in St Peter, Barbados. Manumitted on the eve of Emancipation. Married a butcher in Speightstown.
