In his own will, made in 1830, Frater left property to his 'cousin' Joseph Stobbs: this must have been a son of the Joseph Stobbs lessee of Clydesdale, who died c. 1823.

The Buff Bay plantation was a sugar estate next to the Buff Bay River, south of Charlestown in Jamaica. By 1839, the estate was 840 acres.
