T71/884: claim by Widow Casse Lauriol. Counterclaim by John Bellingham Inglis under mortgage deeds (from Inglis Ellice); Stephen Williams was assignee of an absentee French family, the Salembenis. Christopher Biermont may appear in T71/884 as Christophe Baumann of Bordeaux, liquidator of late firms Feger & Co. etc., holders of a lien. Compensation process relied on an order of creditors, 'Rapport d'ordre'. Christopher Biermont launched an appeal to the Privy Council on 25/05/1840 but withdrew on 01/06/1840, triggering the award to Stephen Williams, made on 20/07/1840.
