T71/1609: letter, dated 10/08/1836, from Eliza Theresa Thomas, Blackquarry (address to me at Mr D. Robertson's, 188 Irongate), stating that her late brother, Mr Sholto Archibald, left two female enslaved persons on the Island of Dominica named Denise and Eve, with their children in charge of Mr Thomas Dawbiney: 'I as the nearest relation of the said Sholto Archibald beg of you to inform me whether the said female Negroes have been given in by Mr Daubeny'. Letter, dated 31/08/1836, from Eliza T. Thomas (formerly Eliza T. Dowdy), stating that Mr J. Daubeny is not entitled to the enslaved persons.
