Notes

An estate called Gales on Antigua was known to have been owned by James Willoughby Gordon, the son of Francis Grant Gordon in 1806. The enslaved people registered to the estate of Francis Grant Gordon deceased have been tentatively associated with Gales: the compensation claim relating to these enslaved people carried no estate name. However, Gale's is said to have been renamed after its purchase in 1746 by James Gordon as 'Table Hill Gordon' and the name Gale's discontinued, Hewlester A.Samuel, The Birth of the village of Liberta, Antigua (Coral Springs, Florida: Llumina Press, 2007), p. 41.
