Notes

James Betty bought both the land and enslaved people upon Gibraltar estate from William Crouch at some point between 1823 and 1826. The enslaved people were later registered within the same group as those on Resource estate, but Betty was listed as owner of Gibraltar estate in the almanacs until at least 1839. See JA13499.
