Biography

  1. Probably the Owsley Rowley, Colonial Secretary of Grenada, who died in 1854. Son of Rev. George Rowley. A man of the same name, Owsley Rowley, former Mayor of Huntingdon, who died c. 1824 was the uncle of that Owsley Rowley of this entry.

  2. Memorial inscription in St George's Church, Grenada, gives his death as 05/12/1854 in his 73rd year, and his wife as Christian, daughter of Isaac Horsford Esquire, her death September 1853 aged 76.

  3. Jane Alicia Glassen, daughter of James Glassen [q.v.] married George Henry Rowley, son of Owsley Rowley. Their daughter Emily Jane married George Mony Johnson in Sydney in 1870. George Henry Rowley, Police Magistrate, died at his residence, Little Hartley, in Sydney 25/02/1872 age 62 years. Jane Alicia Rowley died in Sydney in 1905 in her 85th year.
